Navigation and Filtering
Learn how to navigate the calendar and use filters to find what you need.
FlowDule’s calendar is designed with layered navigation that makes it fast to find what you’re looking for, whether you’re browsing between days, filtering by practitioner, or searching for a specific booking.
Calendar header
The calendar’s top area is divided into three tiers:
Tier 1: Date navigation
- Month/year title — Tap to open a month picker
- Left/right arrows — Navigate quickly forward and back
- “Today” button — Only appears when you’ve scrolled away from today’s date. One tap brings you back
Tier 2: Date strip
A horizontal scrollable strip showing 7 days with weekly context and small dots beneath each day indicating booking activity.
- Pull down on the strip to expand into a full mini-calendar
- Swipe up to collapse it again
- Tap a day to see that day’s details
Tier 3: View switcher
A segmented control with four options: Day, Week, Month, and Agenda. Switch quickly between views with one tap.
Note
Less frequently used views like Timeline and Year overview are accessible via the settings icon or by long-pressing the segmented control.
Filtering
Filter bar
Below the view switcher, you’ll find a horizontal bar with filter chips. Active filters appear as colored chips that can be removed with a tap.
Available filters:
- Practitioner — Colored dots per practitioner. Tap to show/hide their bookings
- Service — Filter by specific service types
- Status — Show only confirmed, pending, or cancelled bookings
- Location (Chain Admins only) — Dropdown with “All locations” or a specific site
Tip
Think of practitioner filters like “map layers” — you toggle them on and off to focus on what’s relevant.
How to filter
- Tap a practitioner dot in the filter bar to toggle visibility
- Tap the “Filters” chip to open the full filter panel
- Select the filters you want
- The calendar updates automatically
When more than 3 filters are active, they collapse into a “Filters (+N)” chip. Tap it to open a panel with all filter groups.
Role-based filters
Not all filters are visible to all roles:

Search
Tap the search icon in the header to open a search bar. You can search by:
- Client name
- Practitioner name
- Service type
- Booking notes
Results are displayed in agenda format with the ability to jump directly to the relevant booking.
Quick navigation
Jump to a date
- Tap the month/year title in the header
- Select month and year in the date picker
- Tap the desired date
Go to today
Tap the “Today” pill button that appears when you’ve navigated away from today’s date. It brings you back instantly.
Important
The “Today” button is only visible when you’re viewing a date other than today. If you’re already on today, it’s hidden to save space.
